7 goals in 22 minutes erase a 5-1 deficit

Peter Forsberg had three goals and three assists as the Colorado Avalanche exploded for seven goals in the final 22 minutes to stun the Panthers, 7-5, last night in Sunrise, Fla.

Forsberg's unassisted goal with 1:31 left capped a four-goal outburst in the final five minutes as the Avalanche roared back from a 5-0 deficit that included Pavel Bure's hat trick.

Adam Deadmarsh, Chris Drury, and Milan Hejduk also scored during the Avalanche's final flurry, in which they scored four goals on their final eight shots. Claude Lemieux also scored as Colorado remained unbeaten in its last 10 road games (8-0-2).

Florida had built a 5-0 lead late in the second period on the strength of Bure's 11th hat trick. Bure scored a shorthanded breakaway in the first period, then added two power-play goals.

Florida led, 5-3, with just over five minutes left, but Deadmarsh brought the Avalanche within one with a power-play goal at the 15-minute mark and Drury tied it just 41 seconds later.
