The New York Islanders have talked to the Boston Bruins about moving their former No. 1 pick Rick DiPietro.
They're trying to trade for Sergei Samsonov, presumably to play the Russian with Alexei Yashin.
DiPietro played goal at Boston University and would have a large following there.
There's also talk of the Bruins trading for Islanders backup Garth Snow if they can't sign free agent Byron Dafoe.
