MONTREAL (AP) — The National Hockey League gathers here this week for its annual summer meetings with the main order of business being the stocking of the new Kansas City and Washington franchises.
Both teams are scheduled to begin play this fall and each will select 22 players and two goaltenders in the NHL expansion draft set for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Board of Governors will hear a report from the Kansas City club regarding delays in construction of the Scouts' home arena. A series of labor disputes has slowed completion of the project and caused the league to reschedule Kansas City's home opener for Nov. 2. almost one month after the season starts.
“It is one of our major anxieties,” said NHL president Clarence Campbell. “A special inspection of the facilities is being done now and a report will be filed at the meeting.”
Also on the agenda for the meetings are applications from cities bidding for the NHL's next two expansion franchises. The league has said it would expand again in 1976 and among the appli-lants are Denver, San Diego and Seattle.
